Who Needs Phones…
A Typical Scenario…
8:30am – Roger decides to set up a conference call for 2pm this afternoon with Chris and Ed
8:32am – Roger signs on to the web interface from home and books the time slot. He also selects Chris & Ed from the corporate directory listing as participants.
8:33am – Roger knows that Ed is always busy and never joins the conference on time, so he ticks the box that will ensure that Ed is sent a reminder text message 2 minutes before the conference starts.
8:33am – Roger also knows that Chris is staying with some friends and needs to be called on their phone so they don’t pay for the call. He enters the phone number and sets the system to automatically call Chris when the conference begins.
1:58pm – Ed receives the text message and presses the dial button on his phone to call Espress Chat. The system recognises his Called ID and connects him to the conference immediately.
1:59pm – Roger dials in to the conference using MS messenger on his PC. The system recognises his SIP address and connects him straight to the conference. It also announces him using the recording that he made last time he used the system.
2:00pm – Espress Chat calls Chris’s friend’s phone and asks him if he wants to join the conference. He says “yes” and is connected immediately. He is announced by TTS (Text to Speech).
